Rihanna && Chris Brown

So, heres my take on this situation (and no I don't care if you asked for my opinion): Chris Brown slapped the shit outta Rihanna....and life goes on. I'm sure that all of you have a friend, acquaintance, or associate that has either been hit by their significant other or has done the hitting....and does life not go on? I'm not justifying it...not at all because its not right but is that not their personal life? I was reading an interview that Beyonce did where she said "If I give my all as a performer, why should I have to expose my personal life to be loved an accepted" (thats not an exact quote but it was something like that). And I agree...I mean its wrong, but a lot of celebrities including artists, athletes, etc. have done things that might not be morally acceptable, but its life and its not our life to judge...thats just my take on it. I mean, Kobe cheated on Vanessa and I haven't seen his popularity go down....and just because you support him, does that mean you support infidelity? I don't think it does....That is all.

The American Music Awards 2009

What an interesting award show....So, while I think Taylor Swift is talented....I do not understand how she beat Beyonce yet again...nor do I understand how she beat Michael Jackson....I mean...really??? She beat MJ??? Okay...on to another topic....everyone was so super pumped about Rihanna's return and I was very interested in seeing what she would bring and she looked amazing might I add but her voice....ehhhh...not so amazing. Jay-Z and Alicia Keys were amazing....point blank and when Alicia Keys performed by herself she was absolutely amazing as well...I thought it was a really great performance...it was new to see her do a little dancing and I liked it...I also think she looks really good with the little weight she has picked up. Now....J-Lo....I can't say too much about that performance...first off she should have had on the shoes that her song was about and then her performance was mediocre AND THEN she fell....not cool J-Lo....not cool at all. On to a whole 'nother genre, Carrie Underwood looked AND sounded amazing...and I'm not even a big fan of country music...I think she had one of the best performances of the night and that blew me away because being after Rihanna I didn't know what to expect. Ummm who else??? I think Nicole Kidman and Kate Hudson looked really good and I am very excited to see the musical coming out. I missed Janet Jacksons performance :( but I am going to have to check it out on Youtube because I heard it was good. Lady GaGa was great...and an unforgettable performance as usual....I really enjoyed it....I think she is a very unique performer and I can appreciate that...she makes it art instead of just music. Whitney Houston looked beautiful but she still is not the original Whitney....she sounded more like she was talking than singing....but hopefully she will get it together one day. And last but not least....who the hell is Gloriana???

ANTM

As you may or may not know, I am a big America's Next Top Model fan and a big Tyra Banks fan....but something about this season just did not thrill me. I was very excited to see what the short girls were working with...but I couldn't even stay focused, which is big for me because I am usually RUNNING to my room to watch it. I think that while Nicole is very talented...she is the SECOND Nicole that I just did not think would win. I definitely thought Lara had it in the bag...her walk was fierce and she had a more versatile look in my opinion. Hopefully next season will be better....am I the only one that feels this way???? One great thing about it: Tyra's hair....LOVED IT! lol

So, Desperate Housewives Season 6 Season Premier came on on September 27, 2009 and it was the highlight of my week!!! Talk about good! I am sooooo glad that Susan and Mike are married because if it was Katherine...I woulda been PISSED! I can't believe she tried to steal Susan's wedding dress though! I woulda had to kick her a**. lol. I want to know what is up with the new family on the block and why that boy tried to kill Julie! And how the hell is Bree going to sleep with Susan's ex-husband??? What is up with these chicks...thats not friendship. Its so crazy that i love it! lol. And that niece of Gabi and Carlos needs to be beat with that little attitude....for real. I can't wait until Sunday (sigh)!

The Blueprint 3

So....after so much anticipation, I finally purchased The Blueprint 3 a couple days ago....and....I love it like it's my own album. I can't believe that a 40-year old is still the best rapper alive (in my personal opinion). I was reading a magazine that asked the question, Is Jay-Z bigger than hip-?hop....and I have to say yes! lol. Like 14 albums....who does that? Owning a team? who does that? He is like your favorite rapper's favorite rapper lol. Gotta love that man....and on top of all that....the swag is killin....and he's married to Beyonce...they r livin the life! :D

Camping 8-24-09-8-26-09

So...I am going camping tomorrow and I am absolutely terrified. Anybody that knows me knows that I am not a nature kinda girl and I am terrified of going on this camping trip lol. I am going with the rest of the staff of RA's as a team builder and although I am excited about the connections that we will all make...I am nervous about the 44 miles of canoeing that we will be doing over the next 3 days lol....But I am being optomisitic (SP) meaning "No Bitching". I am going to make the best of it....no cell phones...no computers...no communication with the outside world lol....wish me luck!

**Starmaker**

So....although I often joke about Diddy's unrelentless quest for new talent, saying "Here he goes again" lol...I can appreciate the talent that he brings about in each show. I am watching Starmaker right now and these are some excdeptionally talented people...seriously. He has a knack for finding good talent....seriously. And he is pushing out some seriously talented people. And another thing that I do love about the show, is its diversity....there are people of all different ethnicities singing all different genres of music...I give it two thumbs up :D

Enlightened 8-9-09

So...I went to church this morning...to women's day && it was so absolutely awesome! Just from beginning to end, I just kept feeling so much of a burden lift off of me! The speaker was absolutely amazing...she was so real. And from her message, I realized a lot of things....things that I had already been struggling with but really for no reason...I realized that people will come and go and as long as God is you consistency...the rest will fall into place. Also, she made some very good points about the way that transitioning feels...and I realized that this is what is happening to me....people that were once there are not anymore....things that I once thought I wanted...I don't have the desire for anymore...these are things that God has taken away for a reason...it may be to reveal something to me or simply because it doesn't fit into my life...uhhhh. I could just go on and on and on...but it was just awesome....absolutely enlightening.

So...WTF???

So, I can not understand why Lady Gaga thought that this hair was at all appropriate. In my opinion it looks like a very pastel bird nest and it is not anything that someone should be wearing on their head for anything besides a joke....and also...why does she not have clothes on???? 2 thumbs up for originality....but thats about it. Am I the only one that thinks this is absurd????

Bittersweet

So, in about 16 days, I will be moving back to school and it is time to get focused. I feel like I am at a point in my life where I am growing into the kind of person that I want to become and a lot of things are changing. People are changing, which includes me too. I am beginning to understand myself and the kind of woman that I am. And I just hope that friendships that I have made will hold up to the test of time. Because I just feel the difference...the seperation...the change in not just my self but everyone. If you are my real friend, obviously you know this is not about u....but if u question it....this just might be...:( The change is for the better, but I hate to lose people that I cherish. I don't feel that I will absoultely lose them....but I definitely know that things won't be how they once were. && in the words of my ace booncoon Jas Cherise...."I HATE CHANGE"! I'm just hoping for the best of things...but just needed to get that off my chest.

So God has been looking out...thats all I can say! I have had such extraordinary luck && it feels so good because I felt like I was in such a low spot. I am going through an awesome cycle in my life and I just can't even explain how....ENLIGHTENED I am! I am so grateful for so many things....family, friends, health, financial stability, the ability to learn, the opportunity to go to school, just everything! I just feel like I have been rewarded with a lot of good luck && I needed to finally express it!!!

So....I attended the Beyonce concert on Saturday && when I say she was awesome...I mean it totally & abolutely. The ticket was originally bought for me as a birthday gift and it was well worth every dollar. But what really stuck out to me was her humility...I never knew that it could just show in someones demeanor the way that it did. She is for sure my fav r&b singer.....D-I-V-A!

So....college....

I am ready to go back to school...believe it or not because I'm just ready to get it over with...get these credits and knock it out lol. BUT is it just me or does college give u the runaround about everything???? I am so sincerely tired of calling financial aid and housing and getting 30 different answers from 30 different people....I just can't understand why it takes until August for scholarhips to get sent over or whatever...or why they would send me a check when they are saying I owe them money...why are my books for my classes not posted yet????? Is it just me?
